Aluminium UBC cans contains normally 3 to 4% VOC (volatile organic compound) along with some traces moisture. If UBC cans processed directly in to the conventional furnace total yield is very low due to uncontrolled oxidation of surface. It is a well known fact that cleaner the material means higher recovery.

To achieve better yield, UBC can is first shredded into small piece with the help of shredder. A size of 25 to 50 mm is ideal for better result. After shredding process, Shredded material is passed through de coating furnace to remove VOC which helps in attaining better recovery from aluminium

A high-efficiency fume extraction system is provided either fixed directly on the furnace which tilts with the furnace and exhausts through a rotary joint or simply by a high-level fume collection hood/housing.
